To Celebrate or Not to Celebrate?!?

That’s the question !?!

The history of birthday cakes goes as far as Ancient Greece. Greeks burned candles as offerings to their gods and goddesses. For birthdays, they baked round honey cakes to symbolize the moon and topped them off with candles as a special way to pay tribute to the moon goddess, Artemis. Lit candles were added to represent the reflected moonlight, and some ancient cultures believed the smoke from the candles could carry prayers up to the gods.
So why should we stop such a long tradition?

Recently, I came across a post regarding birthday cakes on Instagram that caused an outreach.

Is this a good time to celebrate?
Should you celebrate at all?
Are you too cynical to even think about your birthday?
Why on earth would you want a cake in the pandemic?

Either way, a birthday cake should not cause such a heated discussion. In my opinion, it is not selfish to think about your birthday, if you like to celebrate it. Many people also don’t think about the fact that it is not the birthday person, who is searching for the cake. Usually, it is somebody who wants to give joy and happiness to their loved ones. Everybody deserves to have a delicious birthday cake and to celebrate another year on the Earth even in times of pandemic. And the most importantly, don’t forget your kids! They definitely deserve to celebrate no matter what the outside world look like. And what a party would it be without a cake?!?

I feel like now, more than ever, it is important to find something to celebrate or to look forward to. I am not saying to throw a huge party, but how about you call your family and friends to enjoy a great conversation and laughter while indulging on your cake that was delivered to your doorstep. I love these perks of modern society.

Eating a cake won’t solve your problems, but it will make you to forget them for as long as the cake lasts said nobody, but it’s definitely true. 🙂
Sweets release dopamine and serotonin in our brains that cause happiness and boost our mood. But there is a huge difference in what ingredients release these hormones. Don’t eat processed sugars even on your birthday! Rather treat yourself and your loved ones to a healthy, raw, vegan dessert that will bring you the same joy and satisfy your taste buds and your body will benefit from it as well. Try one of our raw, vegan cakes and see for yourself! 🙂

And if your birthday is coming up, we would like to wish you a Very Happy Birthday!
